About PAAB

The Pharmaceutical Advertising Advisory Board (PAAB) is an independent not-for-profit organization funded on a fee-for-service model. It is the only regulator whose preclearance service is recognized by Health Canada for advertising directed to healthcare professionals. PAAB works to protect Canadians by ensuring that healthcare product advertising meets the regulatory, scientific, therapeutic, and ethical standards outlined in the Code of Advertising Acceptance. All PAAB approved materials bear the PAAB logo.

Every member of the PAAB team is committed to helping industry ensure that the advertising standards in the Code of Advertising Acceptance are adhered to in the interest of patients. This energetic group is passionate about the PAAB mission.

Patrick

Patrick Massad

Commissioner

 

Patrick Massad has been with the PAAB since 2002. He’s held several posts during his tenure starting as a reviewer, then as the Chief Review Officer, then as Deputy Commissioner, and now as Commissioner.

He is a graduate from the pharmacy program at University of Toronto. More recently, he has completed the Canadian Association Executives program offered by the CSAE and has attained the CAE designation.

Patrick is a black belt in Kuk Sool Hapkido and regularly draws on the life lessons he learned on his decade-long journey toward attainment of that goal. His passions include philosophy and psychology and he occasionally takes online university courses in these disciplines for enjoyment.     

     


Glenn Golaz

Manager, Finance and Administration

Glenn started with PAAB in 1995. After 21 years he decided to pursue other interests but after a three year absence he has returned to the PAAB. Glenn has over 30 years experience in the Finance and Administration field and has gained valuable experience in senior accounting and management roles for small and mid size organizations in different industries which includes not for profit.

He is dedicated to helping our organization continue to achieve its values of Integrity, Competency, Credibility, Independence, Excellence and Transparency as the organization works with its stakeholders.
